Ā’isha bint Abī Bakr, the Mother of Believers, was the third wife of the Prophet Muhammad. She is described in the Hadith as marrying the Prophet at the age of 6 or 7 and then consummating that marriage at 9 or 10.
Aisha herself is often characterised as scholarly, inquisitive and intelligent, and this song is written from the point of view of an older, more cynical Aisha, looking back on her life and how she came to be her position.
Extreme metal is replete with Christian imagery and ideas, and there are plenty of songs which re-examine or invert well known Christian fables through a blasphemous lens. This song was our attempt to re-tell the stories of another religion from a similarly irreverent perspective.
